The Watershed Project Educator Workshop: Summer 2020

Registrations are now being accepted for The Watershed Project Educator Workshop held on the shores of Lake Okoboji in July 2020.

 

This four-day workshop, led by local conservation professionals and the high school teachers who have implemented The Watershed Project in their own Iowa high school classrooms, will not only prepare you to integrate project-based learning into your classroom but introduce you to concepts around watershed management in Iowa. You will also make connections with teachers with a range of experience in project-based learning and conservation education - a group you can call on throughout the year as you explore integrating The Watershed Project into your classroom.

Who: Iowa secondary educators (grade 6-12) interested in implementing The Watershed Project in their classroom. All disciplines welcome; you are encouraged to bring a partner from your school or community.

Where: Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, 1838 IA-86, Milford, IA 51352. This amazing 147 acre campus situated on West Lake Okoboji boasts numerous natural ecosystems such as wetlands and prairie. Housing is on-site.

When: July 27-30, 2020

Cost: $650/person. Includes housing, meals, and all workshop materials. Workshop will be offered for relicensure and/or graduate credit.
